Fred Hubert Page, 96, Clayton, Georgia.


Fred Hubert Page, 96, of Peaceful Lane, Clayton, Georgia., died Thursday morning January 6, 2011 in North East Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Georgia.
Hubert was born in Rabun County October 19, 1914 to the late Henry Miles Page and Fannie Turpin Page. He was retired Police Chief for the City of Clayton after 26 years of service and after retirement with the city of Clayton, he worked several years with the U.S. Forest Service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW 2 and served in North Africa, Southern France and the PO Valley and Rome-Arno Campaigns. He was a member of the American Legion Post 220 of Clayton, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Jenny Fugate, Annie Wilbanks, Icie Rickman, Myrtle Speed and Faye Marsengill, two brothers, Jess Page and Norman Page. And is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Don and Linda Page of Rabun Gap, GA., and David Page of Clayton. One daughter and son-in-law Dale and Travis Tyler of MT. City, GA., one sister Margie Bleckley of Mt City, GA., two brothers- Ray Page of Clayton and Cliff Page of Ortonville, Michigan., four grandchildren and five great grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be Saturday January 8, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at The Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Cannon and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery in the Warwoman Community.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 8, 2011. The family is at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Dale and Travis Tyler on Rogers Cove Road, off Black Rock Road, MT. City, GA.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
