Fred Lee McCoy 85, of Carnes road in the Liberty Community, Tiger, Georgia died Tuesday January 8, 2013 at his residence.
Born in Rabun County, January 14, 1927, he was the son of the late Ulyses and Alice Deal McCoy. He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Taylor’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW 2.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Lee McCoy, by three brothers; Melvin, Paul and Ellis McCoy and by two sisters; Mildred Rogers and Catherine Thompson, and is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Doris Dills McCoy, of the home. One son and daughter-in-law Doug and Tonya McCoy of Tiger, GA.One Brother and sister-in-law Jim and Mary Jane McCoy of Rabun Gap, GA. One sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Frank Thompson of Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Three grandchildren; Hannah McCoy, Jeramy McCoy and Jeffery Dickerson and one great-grandchild, Kiley McCoy. One special care giver; Sabrina Ewing, of Otto, NC.
Funeral Services will be Friday morning January 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Cloer officiating. Burial will be in the Head of Tennessee Cemetery, Dillard, Georgia.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Thursday evening January 10, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. The family is at the home on Carnes Road.
