Frank W. Lovell

Frank W. Lovell, Jr., 72, of Wiley, Georgia., died Tuesday December 27, 2016., at Mountain Lakes Medical Center, Clayton, GA.

Born in Rabun County May 5, 1944, he was the son of Mary Holcomb Lovell of Wiley and the late Frank W. Lovell, Sr., he was a retired 1st Sargent with the U.S. Army after twenty years of service (1966-1986) with one year in Vietnam. He was an Infantryman and spent 13 years as a MP. He received the National Defense Service Medal // Army Commendation Medal, // Bronze Star Medal, // Vietnam Service Medal W/3 Bronze Service Stars, // Vietnam Campaign Metal W/60 DEV // Vietnam Cross of Gallantry W/Palm (Unit) // Meritorious Service Medal
(1st OLC) // Combat Infantryman Badge, // Good Conduct Medal, (6th AWD) // Army Service Ribbon // Overseas Service Ribbon (3D AWD) // NCO. Professional Development // (4th) Ribbon //Army Achievement Medal. Frank served his country well.

Besides his father, Frank W. Lovell, Sr., he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Carpenter and is survived by a son, Toby Len Lovell (Rita) of Pearland, TX., a daughter, Tara Lovell Rounds (Richard) of Warner Robbins, GA., by his mother, Mary Holcomb Lovell of Wiley, GA., two brothers,, Charles Lovell of Clayton and Norman Lovell of Wiley, GA., two sisters, Cathy Franklin of Florida, and Dianne Lovell Vanderhorst of Wiley, GA., two grandchildren, Brittany Lovell of Lubbock, TX., and Katie Louise Rounds of Warner Robbins, GA. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday December 30, 2016 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Burrell and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Rabun Memory Park with full military honors.

Visitation will be Friday December 30, 2016 from 12 noon to 2:00 P.M. (The Funeral Hour). The family asks in lieu of flowers memorial donations, be made in his memory, to DAV, Rabun County Chapter (15) 230 Fieldale Road, Toccoa, GA. 30577.
