Frank R. Colvin 79, Clayton, GA
Frank R. Colvin, 79, of Low Gap Road in the Flat Creek community, Lakemont, Georgia died Wednesday June 29, 2011 at his residence.
Born December 28, 1931, in New Eagle, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Julien and Evelyn Fitch Colvin. He was a self-employed large truck mechanic; he was a mason and a shriner and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves and was a member of the Flat Creek Baptist Church.
He was twice married- first to the late Margot Leonard Colvin, (50 years of marriage) and then to Gayla Smith Colvin, of the home.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Gregg Colvin.
Surviving are his wife; Gayla Smith Colvin of the home. Two sons, James R. Colvin of Roanoke, VA., and Julien S. Colvin of Spring Hill, FL. One daughter, Evelyn Colvin Montgomery of Wildwood, FL. Two Brothers, William Colvin of Griffin, GA., and Julien Colvin of Baltimore, MD. Two sisters, Elizabeth (Libby) Thomas and Alice Hagenmueller, both of Virginia. Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday July 2, 2011 at the Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Rogers officiating, with burial to follow in the Flat Creek cemetery with Masonic rights.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to the Flat Creek Baptist Church Saturday July 2, 2011 where family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. with the service at 2:00 P.M.
The family is at the home on Low Gap Road, Lakemont, GA.
