Frances Norton

Frances Rose Burrell Norton… Born April 23, 1914. Died January 1, 2013. She grew up in Rabun County on the family farm near Dillard. She married Jay Norton in 1934 and in 1937 moved to Wyoming with her husband and toddler child. After 40 years in Wyoming, she and her husband moved back to the Betty’s Creek where they spent their retirement year’s gardening and associating with their family and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Romona Jean Norton in 1938, by a daughter Nancy Rebecca Davies in 2005 and by her husband Jay F. Norton in 1994. She is survived by a daughter, Lois Norton Gilbert of Otto, North Carolina, and a brother, Frank Burrell of Douglas, Wyoming. Several grandchildren, great- grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
A memorial service will be held Sunday January 6, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Betty’s Creek Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Ronia Hunter and Mickey Justice. Family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made, in her memory, to the Betty’s Creek Baptist Church, 464 Big Creek Road Otto, NC. 28763
