Frances Messer, 80, Rabun Gap, Georgia
Frances Messer, 80, of Bakery Lane, off Wolffork Rd, Rabun Gap, GA., died Sunday night April 11, 2010 at her residence.
Born June 20, 1929 in Pickens, SC. She was the daughter of the late Foster and Edna Galloway. She had spent the greater part of her life in Jackson County North Carolina. She was the widow of Lloyd Roscoe Messer.
Mrs. Messer was a homemaker and was a member of the North Clayton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Keener and by two grandsons, Eric Dean Keener and James Allen Keener, and is survived by four daughters; Martha Coggins of Franklin, NC., Jean Johnson of Tuckasegee, NC., Marie Conner of Rabun Gap, GA., Jane McKinney of Brevard, NC., two sons, Lloyd Messer of Clarkesville, GA., and Lee Messer of Clayton, GA., one brother, Lester Galloway of Traveler’s Rest, SC., and one sister, Doris Whitmire of Traveler’s Rest, SC., Seventeen grandchildren and thirty five great- grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday April 14, 2010 at North Clayton Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Conner and Layman Lloyd Hunter Officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 P.M at the Shook Cove Cemetery in Tuckasegee, NC.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday April 13, 2010. The body will be placed in the Church at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday to lie in state. The family is at the home on Bakery Lane, Rabun Gap.
