Florence Welch Jones, 59, of Clayton, GA, wife of Red Jones died Thursday January 24, 2008 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center.
Mrs. Jones was born March 30, 1948 in Rabun County she was a daughter of the late John Welch, Sr. and Nellie Webb Welch. She was employed in the textile industry, a home maker and a member of the Clayton Church of God.
Survivors include her husband; Red Jones of the home, one daughter; Tammy L. Jones of Clayton, GA, one son; Harris L. Jones of Mtn. City, GA one brother; John Welch, Jr. of Mountain City, GA, two sisters; Molly Henslee of Rabun Gap, GA, Genelia Welch of Canton, GA,
She was preceded in death by a son Richard L. Jones, brothers; Lon and Thee Welch, and sisters; Nana Lee Welch and Jane Johnson.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday January 27, 2008 at the Clayton Church of God with the Rev. Bryan Alexander and Rev. Roy Conner officiating. Burial will be in the Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery .The body will be placed in the church at 1 PM Sunday January 27, 2008 to lie in state until the funeral hour.
The family is at the home in Clayton and will receive friends at the Hunter Funeral Home from 6 until 9 PM Saturday January 26, 2008.
