Flora Mae Holcomb, 83, of Blair Street Tiger, Georgia., died Wednesday June 6, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center ,Gainesville, Georgia.
Born May 1, 1929 in Oconee County South Carolina., She was the daughter of the late Burt and Nittie Phillips Thrift. She worked in the textile industry at Claybourne MFG for over thirty years and was a member of the Tiger Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by three brothers, Raymond, Rance and Ronnie Thrift.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Holcomb, and Nannette of Tiger, GA., a daughter and a son-in-law Anita Chivaess and Steve of Tiger, GA.; Two Brothers, and their spouses W.J. Thrift and Wylene of Salem, SC., Rufus Thrift and Ann of Seneca, SC. Two sisters and their spouses Lois Dixon and Russell of Clayton, GA., Flois Woods and Jessie of Fairplay, SC. Four grandchildren and three great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday June 9, 2012 at the Long Creek Baptist Church in Long Creek, South Carolina with Rev. Tim Hunnicutt officiating. Burial will follow in the Long Creek Cemetery, Long Creek, South Carolina.
The body is at Hunter Funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Friday, June 8, 2012. The body will lie in state from 12:00 To 1:00 PM. (the funeral hour).
The family is at the home on Blair Street Tiger, Georgia.
