Ernest Dewy Cox, 73, of Sherwood Lane Clayton, Georgia., died Tuesday February 10, 2015 at his home in the Chechero Community.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina., April 15, 1941, he was the son of the late Robert and Margaret Doar Hanrahan. He was a dental technician, a U.S. air force veteran of Vietnam, a member of the VFW and a member of the St. Johannah Lutheran Church in Charleston, SC.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by a daughter, Mandy Taylor and a great granddaughter, Madeline Henslee, and is survived by a special companion, Kathy Reid of Clayton, two daughters, Shannon O’Connell (Mark) of Newnan, GA., and Donna Cox of Clayton, GA. A brother, Patrick Hanrahan, of Deerfield Beach, FL. Two sisters, Barbara Hanrahan, Lakeland, FL., and Lynn Hanrahan of Cartharpin, Virginia. Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be from 5 P.M. TO 6 P.M. Saturday February 14, 2015 with a service at 6:00 P.M. with Rev Marvin Reid officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family is at the home of his daughter, Donna Cox on John English Lane, Clayton, Georgia.
