Emogene Fountain Whiten, 59 OF Clarkesville, Ga. Affectionately known as (Jean) Died Thursday June 4, 2009 at Northeast Ga. Medical Center, Hospice, in Gainesville, Ga.
Born in Rabun County she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Vassie Garland Fountain, Sr. She was a seamstress in the Textile Industry as well as being a homemaker. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Habersham County, Ga.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by Three brothers David, Buford and Calvin Fountain, and is survived by her husband, Randy Whiten of Homer, Ga. One daughter and son in law, Shirley and Steve Whitfield of Clarkesville, Ga. Two step daughters, Connie Chastain of Clarkesville, Ga. and Julie and her husband Lee Caudell of Mt. Airy, Ga. and is Survived by three brothers Reno Fountain of Rabun Gap, Ga. Thomas Fountain, Jr. and Lewis Fountain, of Clayton, Ga. Three sisters Irene Lamb of Rabun Gap, Ga, Nancy Ayers of Clarkesville, Ga, Cinda Massengill of Homer, Ga. Also surviving are two grandchildren, James and Jeannie Whitfield of Clarkesville, Ga, and three step grandchildren, Kyle Chastain and Thomas and Ava Caudell all of Mt. Airy, Ga.
The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home Saturday June 13, 2009 at 11:00A.M. conducted by layman Lloyd Hunter. The family is at home on Circle Drive in Clarkesville, and will receive friends at Hunter Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
