Emmett Bell Allen, 83 of Clayton, Ga. Died Thursday July 2, 2009 in Mountain Lakes Medical Center Clayton, Ga.
He was born May 13, 1926 in Morgan County Georgia, to the late Paul and Leila Deloach Allen. He was a Factory worker in the Textile Industry for 29 years after he retired in 1973. He also worked as a Truck driver for American Iron and Metal in Atlanta, Georgia and was a Baptist by Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Paul Thomas Allen, Emmett Allen Jr, and is survived by a wife Frances Swafford Allen of Mountain City, Ga. Three daughters and a son, Shirley Herring and Sheila Slater both of Toccoa, Ga., Sandra Jude of Delbarton, WV. Shane Allen of Clayton, Ga. Three sisters and three brothers, Irene White and Nina Nix both of Monroe, Ga. Alice Burgess Watkinsville, Ga. Tom Allen of Clayton, Ga. Eugene Allen of Stockbridge, Ga. James Allen of Monroe, Ga. Four grand children, Joshua Croy of Toccoa, Ga. Brandi Allen of Clayton, Ga. Elias and Evan both of Dalbarton, WV. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be Monday July 6, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Madison McCrackin and Rev. Billy Burrell. Burial will be at the Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. and then from 6 to 9 P.M. Sunday July 5, 2009. The Family is at their respective residences.
