Emma Sliger

Emma F. Sliger, 84, of Smiley York Road, Demorest, Georgia., died Thursday November 7, 2013 at her residence.

She was born in Habersham County, Georgia., June 14, 1929, the daughter of the late Thomas and Cindy Gabrels Norris. She was the widow of George Sliger. She was a nurse (L.P.N.) and worked various hospitals along with being a homemaker and was a member of Bethel Temple Holiness Church in Demorest, Georgia.

“Miss” Emma was preceded in death by brothers, Lewis (Bud) Norris and Jack Norris and by sisters, Lucy Lumpkin and Louise Norris and is survived by: two sons, Barry Nation (Dewielene) of Demorest, GA., and Tony Nation, Sr., of Cornelia, GA., one daughter, Beverly Nation and her husband. Jackie Thompson of Demorest, GA. Two sisters, Ellen Elrod of Demorest, GA., and June Howard of Toccoa, GA., ten grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Monday November 11, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at the Bethel Temple Church, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Jonathon Fitzpatrick officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Temple Cemetery.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to Bethel Temple Church Monday November 11, 2013 where family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 3:00 P.M. (The Funeral Hour). The family is at the home on Smiley York Road Demorest, Georgia. Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Hunter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 653, Clayton, GA. 30525 to aid in funeral expenses (flowers are acceptable).
