Eldon L. Miller 81, Mt. Airy, GA


Eldon L. Miller, 81, of Mount Airy, GA. husband of Pauline Brown Miller died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Stephens County Hospital.
Born October 6, 1926 in Macon County, NC, he was a son of the late Montgomery L. and Mary Ellen Rogers Miller. He had spent most of his life in Habersham County. He was a heavy equipment operator and was a WWII veteran and a member of the Unity Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Miller and a sister, Lucy Norton.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Brown Miller of the home; a daughter, Gail Mabry of MT. Airy, GA., one son, Nelson L. Miller of McDonough, GA., two brothers; Kenneth Miller of Kelso, Washington, and Leon Miller of Augusta, GA, three sisters; Frances Wilson of Mt. Rest, SC., Bernice Chappell of Dillard, GA., and Emma Joyce Lipovac of Jefferson, GA. 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Flats - Middle Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Marty Kilby and Rev. Kenny Kilby officiating. Burial will follow in the Flats Cemetery with the Rev. Wesley Purcell officiating at the graveside.
The family is at the home in Mt. Airy and will receive friends at Hunter Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday, May 13, 2008. The body will be placed in the church on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 1:PM to lie in state until the funeral hour.
