Elbert L. Sullivan, Jr. 70, of Rabun Gap, Georgia., affectionately known as “Sulley”, died Thursday February 2, 2012 at his residence.
Born in Poplarville, Mississippi., July 8, 1941 he was the son of the late Elbert and Louise Parker Sullivan, Sr. He was a member of the Battle Branch Baptist Church, Clayton, GA; a member of the Georgia Sheriffs Association and was retired maintenance technician with Sarah Lee Plastics.
Sulley was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Sullivan and is survived by two sons and their spouses; Robert Sullivan and Renee of Flowery Branch, GA., and David Sullivan and Amanda of Gainesville, GA. Four Brothers, Archie Sullivan of Poplarville, Miss., Doug Sullivan of Sedro Wooley, Wash., James Sullivan of Jacksonville, FL., and Clifton Sullivan of Houston, Texas. Three grandchildren; Jessica Edwards, A.J. Sullivan and Linda Sullivan. Two great grandchildren; Braden Edwards and Hunter Edwards.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Saturday night February 4, 2012 from 6 To 9 P.M.
The family is at their respective residences.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday February 5, 2012 at the Battle Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Madison McCrackin officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made, in his memory, to the American Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Road, Suite 114 Gainesville, GA. 30501
