Elaine Darnell 65, Clayton, GA


Elaine Darnell, 65, of Canton, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 30, 2008, at Metropolitan Hospice in Marietta, GA. A native of Clayton, Elaine was the only child of Catherine Taylor and W.C. Brantley. She was predeased by her parents, infant son Troy, grandson Trenton Welch, daughter-in-law Heather Darnell, and the love of her life George Darnell.
She is survived by sons, Ricky Darnell and his wife, Charlotte of Tampa, FL, and Kevin Darnell of Lakeland, FL, and daughters, Kathy Welch and husband Ronnie of Canton, GA and Rita Butcher of Clayton, GA. Also surviving are grandchildren Samantha Butcher, Wyatt “Bubba” Welch, Hannah, Rogan and Catherine Darnell, and Cameron Darnell as well as many friends and relatives in Rabun County.
The body was cremated and visitation will be held at Hunter Funeral Home in Clayton, from 6 until 8 PM Saturday evening July 5, 2008.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elaine Darnell Fund at Community Bank and Trust to help with expenses.
