Edwin Dane Lakey

Edwin Dane Lakey “Pa” of Rabun County  gained his heavenly wings on Sunday November 28, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Dane was a native to Rabun County and was born on August 30,1946 and was 75 years of age.

Dane was a member of North Clayton Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents Nelson and Stella Lakey, his sister  Brenda Holt and Son in Law Scott Dills.He is survived by his wife Betty Gaye Lakey, two Daughters, Robin Dills and Lynn Billingsley (Johnny). Eight Grandchildren, Tiffany Burrows (Robert), Kalyn Nichols (Jeffery), Kimberly Dills, Kody Dills, Valarie Welch (Forrest),Kelsie Billingsley, Kyndal Dills and Lilly Billingsley. He also had 4 great grand children.Dane has two siblings Ronnie Lakey (Phyllis) and Pat Michko (Jack).

Dane was a man after Gods own heart, and his actions shined through this daily. His faith was his rock, and he wanted everyone to know about God.Dane was known for his love for others. There was never a time he didn’t put others first. To know Dane was to truly love him.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 2nd at 1:00 P.M. At The Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cannon Rev. Carl Carpenter and Michael Holt officiating. With the burial to follow at the Newman’s Chapel Cemetery Otto, NC. With military honors. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. (The Funeral Hour.) The family is at the home.
