Edith Seay Speed, 83, of Cliff Speed Rd, Clayton, Georgia, widow of Cliff Speed. Died Friday, March 5, 2010 at her residence.
Born in Rabun County December 11, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Walter and Lola Tyler Seay. She was a life long resident of Rabun County and was employed by Clayburne Manufacturing for 30 years. She was a member of the Warwoman Homemakers Club and was a member of the Antioch Methodist church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter; Lura Jean Speed Riggins.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Lynn Speed of Clayton, Georgia. Two sisters Ellen Gray of Westchester, Pa and Dorothy Speed of Clarkesville Ga., three grandchildren, Heather Stowe, Leita Ramey and husband Shane and Sophie Speed all of Clayton Ga., four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday March 8, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the Pleasant Hill Baptist church with Rev. Larry Cannon Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Lee Krivsky officiating at the graveside.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the body will receive friends from 6-9 pm Sunday March 7, 2010.
The family is at the home of her granddaughter Leita and husband Shane Ramey on Cliff Speed Rd. in Clayton Ga.
