Edgar Teague

May 28, 1927 — January 19, 2013

Edgar Houston Teague, 85, of Lavonia, Georgia, Formerly of Rabun County Georgia, and affectionately known as “Ed” died Saturday January 19, 2013 at his residence.

Born May 28, 1927 in Mountain City, Georgia, he was the son of the late Louie and Lula Gibson Teague. He was a retired truck driver and a great musician. He was a WW II Army Veteran and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Snellville, Georgia. He was a member of the Music Hall of Fame.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son; Jerry Teague and by brothers and sisters, and is survived by his wife; Hazel Walker Teague of the home. One son, Charles Teague of Lavonia, GA. Three daughters; Carolyn Chamblee of Monroe, GA., Lawanda Kahn of Lavonia, GA., and Nancy Tait of Argyle, Texas; Three sisters, Grace Spencer of Eastonollie, GA Nora Spencer of South Carolina and Linda Sue Garrett of Hiawassee, Ga. Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be at the New Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, Tuesday January 22, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Oliver Rice officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 P.M. at the Teague family cemetery, Lavonia, Georgia. (Hart County)

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Monday January 21, 2013 from 2to 4 P.M. and from 6 to 8 P.M.

The family is at the home on Ricks Road, Lavonia, Georgia.

Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in honor of William Tyler Fay at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta@ Scottish Rite 1001 Johnson Ferry Road, NE, Atlanta, GA. 30342
