Earnest Ray Wall

Earnest Ray Wall, 76, of Clayton, GA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones.

Earnest was born on December 10, 1947, to Ellison and Ruby Wall in Waynesville, NC, and was of the Baptist faith. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ellison and Ruby Wall; brothers, Wayne Wall and Charles Wall; and sisters, Karen Wall and Linda Rowe.

Earnest is survived by his wife, Peggy Wall, of the home; sons, Earnest Pasko, Jody Corder, Stoney Wall, Andrew Wall, and Norman Adkins; daughters, Gena Entrekin, Dixie Wall, Kelly Wall, Julie Wall, Tabatha Adkins, and Jennifer Adkins; special grandson, Johnny; special granddaughter, Samantha; sister, Sandra Jones; brothers, David Wall, Kim Wall (Michelle), and Terry Wall (Judy); 25 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a large number of cousins; and his dog, Bella.

He worked and retired from Chrysler Corp. as a preventive maintenance coordinator and tool and die maker. After retiring, he moved to Rabun County, where his father was born and raised. As a child, he and his family would visit Rabun County for summer vacations, and he fell in love with the area then.

He was a loving husband, father, uncle, and a wonderful brother. He was the best grandfather (Papa) a child could have and loved his family dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Joel Winchester. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
