Dover W. Henson, Sr. 88, of Clayton died September 30, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Georgia.
Born in Macon County, North Carolina, February 26, 1923, he was the son of the late Claude A. Henson, Sr. and Ornessie Miller Henson. He was a supervisor for Burlington Industries for many years. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy, and a former member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Tiger United Methodist Church. Dover will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clifton A. Henson and by one sister, Dorothy Henson Ward and is survived by his loving wife, of many years, Peggy Hunter Henson of the home, one son Dover W. Henson, Jr. of Clayton, GA., and by one granddaughter, Hailey Henson of Sky Valley, and one brother, C. A. Henson of Clayton, GA. Several nephews, nieces, and cousins also survive.
The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 7, 2011 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. James E. Turpen and Rev. Larry Cannon officiating.
The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service Friday October 7, 2011 (1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.).
The family is at the home on Bleckley Drive, Clayton, Georgia.
