Dorothy Welborn

February 23, 1929 — April 18, 2014

Dorothy A. Goss Welborn, 85 of Tiger, Georgia., affectionately known as “Maw” died Friday April 18, 2014 in Mountain Lakes Medical Center, Clayton, Georgia.

Born in Commerce, Georgia. February 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William and Rosa Vashti Robinson Goss. She was the widow of Jesse M. Welborn. She was a restaurant waitress and a seamstress and was a member of the Tiger United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Welborn was preceded in death, besides her parents, five brothers, and one sister and is survived by one son, Leon Brown (Elizabeth) of Tiger, GA., one daughter, Sherrie Crone of Clayton, GA., one sister -in-law, Faye Welborn of Clayton, GA., six grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday April 22, 2014 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Aubrey Blanton and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery on Bridge Creek Road Tiger, Georgia.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. The family is at their respective residences.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
