Dorothy Pearl Carpenter

Dorothy Pearl Talley Carpenter, 91, of Scaly Mtn., NC, passed away on Tuesday July 28, 2020 at Angel Medical Center.

Born February 18, 1929 in Rabun County, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Talley and Effie Carpenter. She lived her life in Rabun County, GA and Scaly Mtn., NC and was a housewife and was a member of Wolffork Christian Fellowship.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, John and Effie Talley, And her husband, James Fred Carpenter, also by three sons, David, Jimmy and Tommy Carpenter and by two brothers and nine sisters. She is survived by two sons, Lester and Missy Carpenter and Jerry Carpenter of Scaly Mtn., NC and five daughters, Joanne and Dan Mitzlaff of Cocoa, FL, Jane and Randy James of Clayton, GA, Maybelle and Hayes Bryson of Cashiers, NC, Brenda Carpenter of Mtn City, GA and Bobbie Sue Carpenter of Scaly Mtn. , NC. Twelve grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service at the Watkins Family Cemetery on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 2:00pm with Rev. Harvey Conner officiating.

The family is at the home on Rabun Branch in Scaly Mtn., NC.
