Dorothy Speed Mason 60, Clayton


Dorothy "Dottie" Speed Mason died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
She was born Aug. 10, 1947, in Rabun County to Joe C. and Samantha Moore Speed. She was employed by the Department of Family and Children Services. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul C. Speed and Virgil P. Speed.
Survivors include two sons, James E. Mason of Old Hickory, Tennessee., and Shane C. Mason of Helena, Montana; two brothers, Hoyt E. Speed and Joe S. Speed, both of Clayton; seven sisters, Barbara E. Williams of Baldwin, Janie Lee Richardson of McDonough, Carrie E. Crane and Bell Taylor, both of Clayton, Genelia Mae Sherrin of Lithonia, Lucille Staton of McDonough and Kathryn Revis of Alpharetta; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Raymond Page and Larry Cannon officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
