Doris Burrell

Doris Mae Stancil Burrell, 77, of Lakemont, Georgia., died Monday January 26, 2015 in the Oaks of Scenic View Nursing Home, Baldwin, Georgia.

Born in Rabun County, September 12, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. Stancil and Josephine Rose Stancil. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Camp Creek Baptist Church.

She was twice married – first to the late Howard Kendrix and later to the late Michael Burrell. Mrs. Burrell was preceded in death by brothers, Lloyd, Hugh, Wayne, Earl, Howard and Grady and by a sister, Barbara, and is survived by three sons, Calvin Kendrix of Lakemont, GA., David Kendrix (Cheryl) of Clarkesville, GA., and Thomas Kendrix (Dawn) of Lakemont, GA. Three daughters, Catherine Burrell (Harris) of Clayton, GA., Margaret Gragg (Kevin) of Lakemont, GA., Elaine Allen (Dennis) of Clarkesville, GA. One sister, Evelyn Harmon of Lakemont, GA. Nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild. Two special grandchildren and families; Amanda and Corey, Corey, Jr., and Kyle; Katie and Sabu and Mason.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday January 28, 2015 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery on Bridge Creek Road, Tiger, Georgia.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Tuesday January 27, 2015 (tonight) from 6 to 8 P.M. The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Dennis Allen on Bear Gap Road, Clarkesville, Georgia.
