Donald Dickerson

Donald Boyd Dickerson, 86, of Rabun Gap, died Tuesday March 15 , 2016 , in Mountain View , Clayton , Ga. Born in Rabun County March 27 , 1929 , and was the son of the late , Joesph Edward and Alma Ramey Dickerson.

Donald was a member of the Blue Heights Baptist Church for a number of years, he loved singing and leading those good old gospel hymns, Donald worked in Construction and mainly worked the fields , He Farmed most all of his life.

Mr. Dickerson was preceded in death besides his parents his wife , Betty Gragg Dickerson , three brothers , Lynn , Grant and Timothy Dickerson , and is survived by one step – son and one step – daughter , Sparky Whitmire and Kay York , both of Clayton , Ga. , Brothers and their spouses , Kenneth Dickerson (Nita) of Ball ground Georgia, Wayne Dickerson ,Clayton , Ga. , Marcel Dickerson (Margaret) of Rabun Gap, Ga. , Kyle Dickerson (Harlene) of Pendegrass, Ga ,
Three sisters , Jewel Arrwood , Lakemont, Ga. , Ruth Williams of Rabun Gap, and Irma Loupe , Norcross, Ga. and one sister- in - law , Patti Dickerson West Palm Beach, Florida , 5 grandchildren which was raised in his home , Michelle , Heather , Brandon , Rebecca and Stephanie , one great grandchild , Kason , and one great great grandson , Craig along with several nieces , nephews and cousins also surviving.

Visitation will be held at our Eastside Chapel , located next door to our main building at 451 Warwoman Rd, Saturday afternoon March 19th , from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. (Service Hour ) ,
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Harvey Conner and Rev. Larry Cannon conducting the service . Burial will be in the Wolffork Baptist Church Cemetery

The body is at the Hunter Funeral Home and the family is at their respective residences
