Denver Bruce Keener, 91, of Wolffork Road, Rabun Gap, Ga., died at his home, Friday May 22, 2015. Born in Rabun County, Ga. February 28, 1924 he was the son of the late Rockaway and Cleliar Johnson Keener.
Bruce was a farmer and had retired from the Textile Industry after thirty three years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW2 and was a member of the Wolffork Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee, a Sunday school secretary, and on several committees. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife, Roba Totherow Keener of the home; Two sons, Danny L. Keener(K-Kay) of Houston, Texas & Randy L. Keener of Rabun Gap, Ga. Six grandchildren, William Keener, Emily Keener, Kevin Keener, Courtney Johnson, Ashley Keener & Brittany Keener. One great granddaughter, Rylee Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday May 25, 2015 at Wolffork Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Greer Officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Hunter Funeral Home Sunday May 24, 2015 from 6 to 9 P.M. The family is at the home on Wolffork Road in Rabun Gap, Ga. Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made, in his memory, to Wolffork Baptist Church, 453 Wolffork Church Rd. Rabun Gap, Ga. 30568 and/or Halcyon Hospice 1435 Haw Creek Circle, Cumming, Ga 30041
