Laverne Edge, 68, Lula, Georgia., formerly of Rabun County died Tuesday July 31, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville, Georgia.
Born in Rabun County, Georgia, March 20, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Clara Holcomb English. She was a public school bus driver for the Gwinnett County School System for several years and a member of the New Hope Baptist Tabernacle in Lilburn, Georgia.
She was preceded in death besides her parents by a brother, Jim English and by a sister, Edith Free.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Edge of the home., by two daughters and their husbands, Sandra and David Fillingim of Dacula, GA., and Kara and Chris Maddox of Dawsonville, GA., one brother, Allen English of Tiger, GA., two sisters, Inez Wilbanks and Martha Hayes both of Tiger, GA., four grandchildren, Christopher, Todd, Kevin and Ashley and several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday August 2, 2012 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve York officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery Tiger, Georgia.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 TO 8 P.M. Wednesday night August 1, 2012.The family is at their respective residences.
