Corinne Philyaw Hamby, age 98, of Clayton, Georgia passed away January 8, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.
She was born on August 22, 1921 in Rabun County, Georgia to the late Clarence and Birdie Canup Philyaw. She was retired from the State of Georgia as an office manager and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Clayton Baptist Church for many years.
Preceding her in death is her husband Robert L. Hamby, her son Christopher Steven Hamby, her brother Randell Philyaw and her sister Frankie Williamson. She is survived by her daughter in law Loretta Hamby as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM (the funeral hour) on January 11, 2019 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with a funeral service following conducted by the Rev. Lee Krivsky. Burial will be at Rabun Memory Park in Tiger, Georgia.
The family is at their respective residences and ask that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to Mt. City Methodist Church in Mt. City, Georgia or to a charitable cause or organization of your choice.
