Cora Mae Patton English, 78, of Clayton, Georgia, died Tuesday May 12, 2015 in Mountain Lakes Medical Center.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina., July 25, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William (Bill) Patton and Laura Parker Patton. She was a kitchen staff employee in the restaurant industry and a homemaker. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.
Cora was twice married; first to the late Wallace R. English and then to the late Rufus Brown English.
She was preceded in death by a son, Billy English and by brothers, Clifford Patton, Bud Patton & Walter Patton and by a sister, Dot Hunnicutt, and is survived by two sons, Nelson English (Sheryl) and Daniel English (Ruth) of Clayton, Ga. Two brothers, Sam Patton of Turnerville, Ga, & Billy Patton of Mountain City, Ga. Four sisters, Juanita Rawlins of Rabun Gap, Ga, Marie Alexander & Patsy Love of Clayton, Ga & Bertha Plumber of Charlotte, NC. Five Grandchildren, Daphney, Ryan, Jana, Kevin & Terry. She also had fourteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday May 15, 2015 at the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Patton & Rev. Steve York officiating. Burial will follow in the Persimmon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday May 14, 2015.The family is at the home of her son & daughter-in-law, Daniel & Ruth English on English Gap Rd. Hwy. 76 W. Clayton, Ga.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
