Clifton Smith

Clifton Smith, age 88 of 340 Begonia Ct, Clayton, GA passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024, surrounded by his family. 

He was born to Claud and Olive Smith on December 6, 1935.

He was owner of Smith Angus Farm and a longtime member of the Rabun County Georgia Farm Bureau and retired from North Georgia Technical College as Instructor of Heating and Plumbing Technology. He was a member of Clayton Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife, Betsy Bramlett Smith, daughters and sons-in-law, Elena Smith Watts (Johnny), and Erin Smith Caudell (Matt); grandson, Joseph “Joe” Watts (Deidra); granddaughter, Lindsay Caudell; great-granddaughters, Ansley, Kaylee, Cora, Olive and Della Watts all of Clayton, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. 

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Mike Campbell and Pastor David Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm prior to the service. 

Internment will follow the service at Smith Family Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or to a worthy charity of your choice are welcomed.
