Clee Hooper Scruggs 93, Rabun Gap
Clee Hooper Scruggs, 93, of Rabun Gap, GA, widow of Wallace Scruggs, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Habersham Medical Center in Demorest, GA.
Born April 8, 1919 in Hiawassee, GA, to the late James and Sally Eller Hooper. She had lived most of her life in Rabun County. She was a Seamstress and a member of the Rabun Gap Homemakers Club and a member of the Mountain City United Methodist Church for more than 65 years.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Bell Hooper, Garnett Hooper, Garland Hooper, E.C. Hooper, James Lee Hooper, three sisters, Emma Partain, Lucy Berrong, Marie Hooper. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Rayford Poole of Alto, GA, a grandson, Ronnie Poole of Alto, GA. two sisters-in-law, Anna Jo Hooper and Irene Hooper, Delzie Hooper all of Hiawassee. Several nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be at 3 PM, Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James E. Turpen officiating. Burial will follow in the Wesley Cemetery in Rabun Gap.
The body is at Hunter Funeral home where the family will receive friends from 1 PM until 3 PM (service time) on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
In lieu of flowers donations be made to the Mountain City United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 305, Mountain City, GA 30562.
The family is at their respective homes.
