Clara Hopper

Clara Lavada Holt Hopper, age 99, of Ponderosa Road, Rabun Gap, Georgia died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Mountain View Health and Rehab.

Born May 28, 1913 in Rabun County, Mrs. Hopper was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Ada Missouri Kell Holt. She was a homemaker and a member of Head of Tennessee Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hopper is preceded in death by husbands Robert Mason and Joe Hopper, daughter Maxine Arrendale, and brothers Claude Holt, Floyd Holt and Paul Holt.

Survivors include niece Marie Chastain of Dillard, grandchildren Jean Foster of Otto, NC, and Rhonda Wilson of Cherokee, NC, Rocky Gibson of Franklin, NC and Ricky Gibson of Mt. City, sister in law Edith Holt of Clarkesville. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, special friend Margie Harkins, as well as nine great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 1:00 PM from the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church at 12:00 PM. Robert Maney and Jamie Chastain will officiate with interment to follow the service in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Franklin, North Carolina. The family will receive friends at Hunter Funeral Home, 423 Warwoman Road, Clayton, GA 30525, on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM,
