Charles L. (Dub-Chico) Holt, 66, of Mountain City, Georgia., died at his home Monday August 11, 2014.
Born in Rabun County, November 6, 1947, he was the son of the late Albert and Oshie Taylor Holt. He was retired from Burlington and was a member of the Newman’s Chapel Baptist Church, Otto, North Carolina.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jessie Faye Holcomb and Fannie Bell and by three brothers; Tom, Ray and George Holt., and is survived by his wife, Carylon Dodgins Holt of the home, two daughters, Sandra Holt Hunnicutt (Ricky) of Tiger, GA., Sherry Holt Gibson, of Mt. City, GA., one brother, Marvin Holt of Mt. City, GA., four Grandchildren, Brittney Chamblee, Wesley Hunnicutt, Taylor Hunnicutt and Bradley Gibson. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday August 14, 2014 at Newman’s Chapel Baptist Church, Otto, North Carolina., with Rev. Danny Cannon and Rev. Carl Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday August 13, 2014. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 P.M. Thursday to lie in state. The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Ricky Hunnicutt on Joe Davis Road, Tiger, Georgia. In lieu of flowers memorial donations made be made in his memory, to Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund P.O. Box 485 Rabun Gap, GA. 30568
