Carroll L. Speed, 55, of Darien, GA., formerly of Clayton, GA. Died Wednesday, May 07, 2008, at Hospice Of The Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA.
Born in August 16, 1952 in Rabun County he was a son of Richard A. Speed of Clayton, GA; and Dorothy Seay Speed of Demorest, GA. He was the owner operator of a Landscaping business. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by a brother Raymond C. Speed.
Surviving are his father, Richard A. Speed of Clayton, GA; mother, Dorothy Seay Speed of Demorest, GA.; one son and daughter-in-law, Lucas Jasper Speed and Nacoma Sosebee of Clayton, GA, one step-son, John Stolp of Clayton, GA.; one daughter, Amanda Speed of Clayton, GA.; two brothers, Arthur Speed of Clayton, GA and David Speed, Sr. of Demorest, GA; three sisters, Pat Gravely of Lakemont, GA., Joyce Chastain of Dillard, GA. and Barbara Nicholson of Demorest, GA. one grandson, Caleb Speed of Clayton, GA; former wives, Valerie Justus Speed of Rabun Gap, GA. and Gail Hunt Speed of Clayton, GA.; Several nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Cannon and the Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Friday, May 9, 2008. The family will be at their respective homes.
