Carol Nix

Carol Dene Evitt Nix 74, of Hale Ridge Road Scaly Mountain,, North Carolina., died Saturday January 26, 2019 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. She was the wife of James Earl Nix.

Born in Macon County North Carolina she was the daughter of the late Harley and Doris Seay Evitt. She was a waitress in the restaurant business and a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church in Franklin, NC.

She was preceded in death besides her parents, Harley and Doris Seay Evitt. By brothers, Calvin Evitt and Arland Evitt., and is survived by her husband, James Earl Nix of the home., one daughter, Elaine Chastain (Neal) of Scaly Mountain, NC., one sister, Margaret Hunter (Bobby) of Dacula, GA., four sisters-in-law, Shirley Evitt of Morganton, NC., Ava Smith of Demorest, GA., Pearl Brown of Carnesville, GA., And Mary Jane Kennedy (Verner) of Demorest, GA. Three grandchildren, Brittany Chastain, Austin Chastain and Blake Chastain also survive.

Funeral services will be at The Flats of Middle Creek Baptist Church Tuesday January 29, 2019 at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Marty Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at the Scaly Mountain Methodist Cemetery Scaly Mountain, NC., with Layman Lloyd Hunter conducting the graveside service.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Monday evening January 28, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The family is at the home on Hale Ridge Road Scaly Mountain, North Carolina.
