Brian Lane

Brian Lane, age 52, of Lakemont, GA, passed away on December 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on November 18, 1972, in Rabun County, he was the son of Cathy Lovell Lane. A lifelong member of Lakemont Baptist Church, Brian had a deep love for studying the Bible. He was a devoted fan of MOPAR and Dodge HEMIs, reflecting his passion for cars. Brian cherished his family and treasured the time spent with his beloved dog, Lulu.

Brian is survived by his mother, Cathy Lane of Lakemont, GA; his best friend of 46 years, Huck Ramey (Leanna); uncles, Ernest Lovell and Terrell Lovell (Tina); aunts, Eleanor Hopper and Sue Wykle (Eddie); and special cousins, Beth Lovell, Lora Burrell (Levi) and their son Jacob, Travis Hopper (Samantha), Tony Lovell (Diane), Dale Lovell, Glen Lovell, and Brent Wykle (Lauren).

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, E.B. and Laura Lovell; uncles, Dean Hopper, Roger Lovell, Dewy Lovell, Tommy Lovell, and Tim Lovell; aunt, Virginia Lovell; and cousin, Troy Hopper.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Lakemont Baptist Church, with Rev. Jewell Gaines and Pastor Hagan Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Rabun Memory Park.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home, located at 423 Warwoman Road.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Lakemont Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Brian's hospice nurse, Amy Westbrook, for the exceptional care she provided.

Cathy and her family will gather at the home of Ernest Lovell, located at 471 Worley Creek Rd., Lakemont, GA 30552.
