Brabson C. Burrell 90, Clayton, GA
Brabson C. Burrell, age 90, passed away early Saturday, September 24. he grew up in Clayton; and graduated from Rabun County High School. He was Principal of Persimmon School prioe to entering the Army during WWII. He was honorably discharged early due to a leg injury and joined the Department of Energy in their quest to construct the first atomic bomb, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He retired October 1989 after 45 years of service. Brabson had a strong work ethic and received numerous company awards for loyal and dedicated service.
He is the son of the late Carl and Jura Burrell of Clayton, and is survived by three brothers, Schley H. Burrell of Clayton, Lyman F. Burrell of Ducula, GA., and Richard J. Burrell of Lilburn, GA. Three children, Sharyn Kuebbing of Pittsburgh, PA., Don Burrell of Lilburn, GA., and Jack Burrell of Oak Ridge, TN.; and seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He will be interred in the Clayton Cemetery at a graveside service Monday, September 26, 2011 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clayton Baptist Church, Clayton, GA., 30525.
