Betty Jo McClain 74, Cartersville, GA


Betty Jo McClain, 74, of Stewart Drive, Cartersville, GA., died Tuesday, February 12, 2008.
Mrs. McClain was born August 18, 1933 in Rabun County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Dank and Mae Bleckley James.
She was an active member of the Friendship Baptist Church where she was member of the Good Samaritans Sunday School Class and was a retired bookkeeper at Admirality Mills. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Preceded in death by her husband, Verner McClain, her brothers, D.M., Bill, and Thomas(Red) James, and a sister, Mary Ann James, Mrs. McClain is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Hugh and Angela McClain and Bob McClain, all of Cartersville, her grandchildren, Justin McClain and Hannah McClain, two sisters, Helen Cash and Mabel Roy, both of Bessemer, Alabama, a brother, Frank James of Clayton, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 15, 2008 from the Clayton Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Duvall officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till 1:00 Pm Friday at the Clayton Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Rabun Memory Park.
Pallbearers will be Greg James, Jeff James, Dank James, Donnie, Darrell and Bill Edwards, Allen West and Brett James. Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank James, Jr. and Dee Lemay.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Friendship Baptist Church, 606 Cassville Road, Cartersville, GA 30120.
