Betty Cannon

Betty Lynn Norton Cannon “Miss Betty”, 74, of Franklin, NC, went to be with Jesus on Monday, February 25, 2025.

Betty was born in Rabun County to the late Percy and Myrtle Lamb Norton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Norton. She was a retired custodian from the Macon County Schools, member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and the church mixed Senior Adult Class. “Miss Betty” worked at Cartoogechaye Elementary for 12 years, the staff and children loved her very much, she always had a smile and hug for everyone. Her grandkids called her MaMaw and they were her pride and joy. “Miss Betty” would visit everyone before church started, kidding around, and always making everyone’s day brighter.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dale Cannon; daughter, LaDonna Perry (Craig); five grandchildren, Christa Perry, Brielle Perry, Macy Perry, Case Perry, Coral Perry; sister, Martha Cunningham; sister-in-law, Kathy McDonough (Gene) and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 27th at Pine Grove Baptist Church from 2-3pm, with a Celebration of Life at 3pm. Rev. Greg Rogers will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church.
