Bertha W. Knight, 73, of Clayton, died Thursday August 5, 2010 at the Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton.
Born April 7, 1937 in Hayesville, NC she was a daughter of the late Don and Belle Bingham Maney. She had spent most of her life in Rabun County and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, James Lee Beasley of Anderson, SC; four daughters, Patricia Collins of Cleveland, GA, Maggie Beasley of Clayton, GA, Becky Cook of Woodstock, GA, and Annie Ruth Taylor of Carnesville, GA; four brothers, D.B. Maney of Cleveland, GA, J.C. Maney of Clayton, GA, Bill Maney of Waynesville, NC and Jerry Maney of Pageland SC; two sisters, Kay Church and Judy Chastain both of Clayton, GA. Twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Sunday August 8, 2010 at the Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating. Interment will follow at the Newman’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends 6 PM until 8 PM on Saturday August 7, 2010
The family is at the home of her daughter Maggie Beasley on Cross Street in Mountain City.
