Mrs. Bee Weatherly Broadrick, 95, widow of Ed B. Broadrick died Monday November 24, 2014 at Mountain View Health Care Clayton, Georgia.,
Born in Mountain City, Georgia., January 27, 1919 she was the daughter of the late George M. Weatherly, Sr., and the late Fannie York Weatherly. She attended the primary and elementary schools in Rabun County and graduated in 1936. She attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega, Georgia., and later Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia graduating in 1952. She did further study at Western Carolina University Cullowhee, North Carolina.
Mrs. Broadrick taught school for thirty seven years in the Rabun County School System and the Rockbridge County School System, Virginia. She was a member of the Mountain City United Methodist Church. After retiring she volunteered as a pink lady at the local hospital, sharing and caring, chamber of commerce and meals on wheels. She was a member of the Georgia and Rabun County retired educators association, AARP, where she played in the band, and the Kelly’s Creek Homemakers Club.
Mrs. Broadrick was preceded in death by her husband Ed B. Broadrick, a brother, George M. Weatherly, Jr., and a sister, Katherine W. Vaughn and one niece, Deborah W. Burrell. Survivors include one niece, Linda V. Avant., two great nieces, Stephanie Avant, and Lana Burrell and one great nephew Richard Avant. Two step sons, Walter E. Broadrick and John M. Broadrick.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and graveside services will be Wednesday November 26, 2014 2:00 P.M. at Wesley Chapel Cemetery Rabun Gap, Georgia., with Rev. Chuck Stutsman and Rev. James E. Turpen officiating. Family is at their respective residences.
