Barbara Speed Williams, 75, Baldwin, GA
Barbara Ellen Speed Williams, 75, of Otis Brown Lane, Baldwin, GA, formally of Clayton, wife of Troy Williams died Monday September 6, 2010 at her residence.
Born January 24, 1935 in Rabun County Georgia she was the daughter of the late Joe C. Speed and Samantha Moore Speed. She was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Habersham County.
She was preceded in death besides her parents by one daughter, Phyllis Ellen Dockins, two brothers, Paul Speed and Virge Speed,, two sisters, Genelia Sherin and Dorothy Mason, and is survived by her husband Troy D. Williams of the home. By one daughter, Maria Jane Grizzle of Baldwin, Ga., and by two brothers, Hoyt Speed, and Joe Speed, Jr., Both of Clayton., and by five sisters, Belle Taylor, of Clayton,GA., Carrie Crane of Clayton, GA., Janie Richardson, of McDonough, GA., Lucille Staton, of McDonough, GA., and Kathryn Revis of Alpharetta, GA. Five grandchildren, Kelly Boling, Deena Haney, Gregory Welch, Scott Grizzle, and David Dockins., two great grandchildren, Brooks Haney and Aiden Grizzle. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday September 8, 2010 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Yarber and Rev. Raymond Page officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 until 9 P.M. Tuesday September 7, 2010.
The family is at the home of her sister, Belle Taylor on Holt Hollow Lane Clayton, GA.
