Annie Belle McCrackin Welborn, 92 of Clayton, Georgia died Friday night December 3, 2010 in North East Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Georgia.
Born in Rabun County, She was the daughter of the late Julius and Bessie Smith McCrackin. She was the widow of Andy Welborn. She was a home maker and worked in the housekeeping Department of Rabun County Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Chechero Baptist Church.
Mrs. Welborn was preceded in death by a son, Julius Welborn and by two brothers, Horace and Jim McCrackin and by a sister, Ruby McCrackin; and is survived by a son, Lewis Welborn (Judy) of Westminster, SC and by a grandson, Johnny Welborn, reared in the home. Also three daughters, Glenis Pritchett of Clayton, Marvilia Roach (Bert) of Clayton, Phyllis Garrett (David) of Hiawassee. A brother, Frank McCrackin of Tiger, GA and a sister, Ruth Taylor of Clayton. Thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday December 7, 2010 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Madison McCrackin and Rev. Brian Alexander Officiating. Burial will be in the Godfrey Cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday evening December 6, 2010. The family is at their respective residences.
