Annie Edmonds Chastain , 101 , of Blacks Creek Drive Mt.City, Ga. died February 14 , at Mt. View Health Care.
She was born in Gwinnett County, Ga. July 21 , 1914 to the late Rev. Jim and Laura Taylor Edmonds. She was a homemaker and a member of Taylors Chapel Baptist Church for over 30 years.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Ervin Chastain of the home. Two daughters Mary Ethel (Charlie) Gragg and her husband Jerry and Laura Chastain both of Mt. City, one grandson , Danny Gragg of Mt. City. Three great granddaughters, Kendra Henderson of Long Creek S.C. and Ashleigh and Whitney Gragg of Clayton. Two great great grandsons , Mason and Austin Henderson of Long Creek S.C. Other survivors include two sisters , Senia Southards of Mt. City, and Irene Livingston of St. Johns Florida. Three sisters - in - law, Rosa Chastain , Marie Edmonds and Sylvia Edmonds, Several nieces and nephews and several cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be Thursday Feb.18 , 2016 in the New Chapel of Hunter funeral home from 6 to 9 P.M. Service will be Friday Feb. 19 , 2016 at 2 P.M. with the Rev. Thomas Burrell and Rev. Marty Kilby officiating in the New Chapel of Hunter funeral home. The body will lie in state from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Wofford , Gene Funderburk , Joe Buchanan , Richard Rogers , Tom Walker and Ernest Chastain. Burial will be in the Taylors Chapel Cemetery.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Laura Chastain on Blacks Creek Drive in Mt. City.
