Allen Elbert Fleming, 71, of Mountain City, Georgia., died Saturday October 19, 2013 in Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa, Georgia.
Born in Brasstown, North Carolina., April 10, 1942, he was the son of the late Rance E. Fleming and Susie York Fleming. He was a machine mechanic for Burlington Industries and Fruit of The Loom in the textile industry. He was in the business of raising cattle and was a member of the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church.
Allen was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Fleming and is survived by his wife, Maybelle Harkins Fleming of the home; one son, Rance Fleming (Karen) of Mt. City, GA. One daughter, Peggy McDaniel (Johnny) of Mt. City, GA. One brother Quincy Fleming (Mary) of Anderson, SC. Seven grandchildren; Sasha, Austin, Michael, Kimberly, Sean, Logan and Megan. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday October 21, 2013 at The Head of Tennessee Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Cannon and Rev. Bryan Alexander officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday October 20, 2013. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 P.M. Monday October 21, 2013 to lie in state. The family is at the home on Hall Lane in Mt. City.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
