William Lee 69, Tiger, GA


William Lee “Bill” Crunkleton, 69, of Tiger,GA. Died Tuesday July 29, 2008 at Greenville, Memorial Hospital.
Born in Rabun County August 7, 1938. He was the son of the late David T. and Maude Corrine McClain Crunkleton. He was the husband of Patricia Boyle Crunkleton. Bill was a lifetime native of Rabun County and had worked in the construction and grading business since 1961. He lived on the farm where he grew up and was very much a part of the land that he loved. He was a master at grading and land preparation and his love for his work was obvious in the many sites he prepared. He installed the first septic system to be inspected by the state in this county. In recent years, he had turned to organic farming, which he enjoyed very much and to which he payed tribute to his father by re-opening his store as a fresh market. Bill spent his life working the land in grading and farming, he was a devoted father, friend and a staunch supporter of the wonderful, simple life of the old time Rabun County.
He is survived by his wife Pat M. Crunkleton of the home; Two sons and daughter-in-law- Todd and Melinda Crunkleton of Tiger, Ty Crunkleton of Tiger; Two step-sons and daughter-in-law- Bart Dowler of Lake Worth Florida and Glenn and Heather Dowler of Lake Worth, Florida; two daughters and son-in-law- Tracy and Dwayne Wilson of Carrolton, GA. and Trudy Crunkleton of Tiger, GA.; Two step daughters and sons-in-laws- Cindy and Tylor Dekin of Simpsonville, SC. and Laura and Josh Carroll of Stuart, Florida; One brother- Bob Crunkleton of Clayton, GA.; Three sisters and brother-in-laws- Lola and Johnny Sneed of Tiger, GA., Laura and Joe DeBord of Chandler, NC., Lois Scroggs of Chandler, NC., and Lucy and Carroll Hudson of Loganville, GA. He is survived by 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brother- George and Tom Crunkleton and 2 sisters- Lula Crunkleton and Chloe Ramey.
Funeral Services will be Friday August 1, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Dendy. The burial will follow in the Crunkleton Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM Thursday July 31, 2008.
The family is at the home on Crunkleton Lane in Tiger.
