Jo Ann Carver Chastain Age 67 of Golden Oak Lane Clayton, Georgia, died
Monday, March 24, 2008 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center, Clayton, GA.
Born in Rabun County, she was the daughter of the late “Buck” and Leona Thomas Carver. She had lived all her life in Rabun County. She was a homemaker and had been employed in the textile industry for a number of years, and was a foxfire contact. She was a member of the Scaly Mountain Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Chastain of the home and by two sons: Jeffery Carver and his long time companion, Bill Gridley of Orlando, FL., and Wayne Chastain and his wife, Amanda, of Clayton. One Brother, John Zeb Carver of Dillard; Nine sisters: Mary Jane McCoy of Rabun Gap, Hilda Carver McLucas of Dillard, Earline Benfield of Clayton, Claudia Dodgins of Mtn. City, Katie Woodall of Tiger, Brenda (Bimbo) Gass of Whitter, N.C., Phyllis Ramey of Lakemont, Faye (Bit) Partin of Rex, GA., and Kaye (Fattie) Collins of Clayton. Two grandchildren: Alyshia and Michael Chastain of Clayton. Her Mother-in-law, Lucy Thomas Chastain. Several nephews, nieces, and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday March 27, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Kilby and Rev. Dwight Loggins officiating. Burial will be in the Hale Ridge Cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday, March 26, 2008.
The family is at the home on Golden Oak Lane on Hale Ridge Road, Clayton, GA.
