Edward Wayne Dickerson, 88, of Clayton, GA died Wednesday September 26, 2018 in Baldwin, GA. He was born April 24, 1930 in Rabun County to the late Joseph Edward Dickerson and Alma Ramey Dickerson. He was the widower of Mary Jane Welch Dickerson.
Wayne graduated from Rabun Gap Nachoochee School and was a retired supervisor with several Construction Companies and was a member of the Wolffork Baptist Church.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Welch Dickerson and his parents, Ed and Alma Ramey Dickerson, an infant son, Gerald Dickerson and five brothers, Lynn, Grant, Tim, Donald and Kyle Dickerson.
He is survived by three sons, Ronnie Edward Dickerson (Vivian) of Rabun Gap, David Wayne Dickerson (Sandy) of Tiger, GA, and Roy Dean Dickerson of Clayton, GA, two daughters, Donna Foster(Sam) of Dublin, GA and Deborah Ann Dickerson of Lakemont, GA. Two brothers, Marcell Dickerson(Margaret) of Rabun Gap, GA, Kenneth Dickerson (Anita) of Ball Ground, GA, three sisters Jewell Arrowood of Lakemont, GA, Ruth Williams of Rabun Gap, GA and Irma Loupe of Norcross, GA, and two sisters-in-law, Harline Dickerson and Patty Dickerson. Ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Saturday September 29, 2018 at the Wolffork Baptist Church with Pastor Madison McCrackin officiating. Burial will be in the Wolffork Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to Wolffork Baptist Church on Saturday September 29, 2018 for visitation from 12:00 noon to 1:00pm (the funeral hour). The family is at their respective residences.
