Gene Leonard Coalley, 87, of Tiger, Georgia died Sunday May 6, 2018 at his home.
Born November 22, 1930, he was the widower of Mary Ida Welborn Coalley, who died in 2010. He was employed by Reeves Hardware and Building Supply for many years and delivered building supplies and hardware to many building sites in Rabun County and the surrounding area. Many homes and businesses show his faithfulness. He was a member of the Clayton Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Wolffork Christian Fellowship Center.
Besides his wife and parents Charlie and Gussie Free Coalley, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen Welborn and Vickie Moss and by a son, Eugene Coalley and also two brothers, Edward Coalley and Dexter Coalley, by two sisters, Sara Smith and Lulu Belle Giles, by brother-in-law, Henry Bud Welborn and sister-in-law, Bessie Mae Poole, Betty Welborn and is survived by three sons, Ricky Coalley (Debra) of Tiger, GA, David Coalley and Kenneth Coalley of Tiger, GA. One daughter, Tracy Barcenas (Salvador) of Tiger, GA, a brother-in-law, Earl Welborn (Charlotte) of Clayton, GA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Joshua Sutton, Brandon Coalley, Bryar Coalley, Richelle Hartwell (Tray), Holly Harding, Zane Harding, and Elijah Brewer and thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday May 9, 2018 at the Wolffork Christian Fellowship Center with Rev. Harvey Conner and Robbie Welborn officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00PM to lie in state. Burial will be in Pickett Cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be Tuesday May 8, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
