Obituary for Lula Zetta Carnes (whitworth)

Lula Zetta Whitworth Carnes, 83, of Carnes Road, Tiger, GA., died peacefully at home on Saturday morning March 24, 2018. 

Born March 26, 1934 in Rabun County, she was the daughter of the late Easburn Whitworth and Alice Robinson Whitworth. She was the widow of William Hubert Carnes. She was a domestic employee for a long time and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. 

Lula was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Carnes, by her parents, Easburn and Alice Whitworth, by a son, Terry Carnes and also by sisters, Leila Taylor and Sue Seabolt and is survived by three sons, Boyd Carnes (Dorothy) of Tiger, GA., Roger Carnes (Martha) of Tiger, GA., and Ray Carnes (Ruby) of Cornelia, GA., one daughter, Kathy Waters (Harrison) of Clayton, GA. One brother, Earl Whitworth of Clarkesville, GA., two sisters, Ellie Henslee of Habersham County, GA., and Thelma Martin, of Habersham County, GA., eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive. 

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Monday March 26, 2018 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Joe McCrackin officiating. Layman Lloyd Hunter will conduct the graveside service at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be Sunday March 25, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. 

The family is at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Boyd and Dorothy Carnes on Joe Davis Road, Tiger, GA.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
